Storydog.com is a place where children and their
families can read stories, play games and voice their opinions.
We urge children and their parents/or Guardians ("Parents")
to use and enjoy our website. We believe that it is a good policy
not to collect more personally identifiable information from children
12 and younger than is necessary for them to participate in our
online activities.
Our information collection practices are described
below. Children should check with their parents/guardians before
entering information on any website and parents should discuss with
their children restrictions regarding the online release of personal
information to anyone they don't know. If there is any change in
this policy in the future, Storydog.com will notify a child's parent
to get his or her consent.
What Information Is Collected?
At Storydog.com, it is our policy to create website
content that requires minimum collection of information from our
visitors. Generally, Storydog.com limits our collection of information
from children to what is known as nonpersonally identifiable information
(i.e. screen name, birthday, gender and zip code). No information
collected from users 12 and younger is used for any external marketing
or promotional purposes whatsoever. This information is collected
so children can participate in activities and post messages, for
example, without giving unnecessary personal information. However,
there are areas of Storydog.com where some personally identifiable
information is asked for and collected (e.g. online sweepstakes,
electronic postcards, etc.). We request only the information that
is required to ensure that children can effectively join in our
activities and do not condition a child's participation in an online
activity on the disclosure of more information than is reasonably
necessary. Storydog.com also does not sell, market, trade or otherwise
share personally identifiable information with any third party.
Online Sweepstakes
Storydog.com occasionally sponsors sweepstakes,
which may be entered online. To enter a sweepstakes, a child is
asked to provide his or her first name and email address and the
email address of his or her parent. We then send the child's parent
an email within two business days informing him or her of the child's
entry and give the parent the option to have their child's entry
deleted. All the information collected by Storydog.com is used for
the purpose of conducting the sweepstakes and for tailoring the
website to childrens interests. The information collected
in the storydog.com sweepstakes may be passed to a fulfillment house
that helps run the sweepstakes.

Parental Access
At Storydog.com, our goal is to help parents ensure
that their children have a safe and fun online experience. That's
why we've set up a system by which parents can print out and mail
or fax us a signed form that allows them to review any identifiable
information collected about their child, have this information deleted,
and/or request that there be no further collection or use of their
child's information. You can link
to the form from here. Storydog.com endeavors to take reasonable
steps to verify the identity of anyone requesting information about
a child and to ensure that the person is in fact the child's parent
or legal guardian.
