John J. Bonk
John J. Bonk's work can be seen in many magazines, including Highlights, Cricket, Cobblestone, Pockets, Dramatics, Poem Train, Hodgepodge, PKA Publications, and the SCBWI Bulletin. A member of the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators, John has studied children's book writing at New York's Gotham Writers' Workshop. He holds a degree in theatre arts from Chicago's Loyola University and is also a member of Actors' Equity Association. John currently resides in a high-rise in the heart of Manhattan with his adopted feline, Madison, the softest kitty in the world.

Dori Butler
Dori Butler has sold 14 books for children, including forthcoming Whodunit: How the Police Solve Crimes (Perfection Learning, 2003), Sliding into Home (Peachtree, 2003) and Trading Places with Tank Talbott (Albert Whitman, 2003). She's also sold numerous magazine stories, educational pieces, book reviews and web stories. She lives in Iowa with her husband, two sons, a dog and a cat.

J.P. Christy
As a freelance writer since 1988, J.P. Christy has written more than 100 video scripts and countless articles for North American companies. But what really makes her soar are creative characters and scenarios. Her short stories have won kudos from judges of both adult and children’s fiction, including Writer’s Digest magazine, ByLine Magazine, and JayJo Publications.
When she’s not writing or leading a monthly writing workshop, J.P. Christy is living the suburban dream in Green, Ohio. There she resides with her husband, Michael, her two school-aged children, her black cat, Jinx, and her cocker spaniel, Sam.

Ann Harth
Ann Harth grew up in Rochester, N.Y. She moved to Massachusetts in high school but returned to upstate NY for college. She has a BA in psychology from Ithaca College. After completing school, Ann lived and traveled throughout the United States until 1983, when she moved to Queensland, Australia. She worked with children with special needs for 10 years.
Ann has recently sold two short stories to Highlights For Children and is working on her second novel. She is married with two children. When Ann isn’t writing, she’s caring for orphaned or injured native wildlife in Tropical Far North Queensland.

Marianna Heusler
Marianna Heusler is the author of more than two dozen short stories. Her novel Buried In The Townhouse was released by Wordbeams.com last year and was nominated for the Frankfurt Award. Larcom Press will publish her young adult mystery The Night The Penningtons Vanished. She serves on the board of the New York Chapter of the Mystery Writers of America. A former teacher, Marianna currently works as a school librarian.

Sharelle Byars Moranville
Sharelle Byars Moranville is the author of several articles and stories for children and adults. Her first book, The Purple Ribbon, is due to be released by Henry Holt in the autumn of 2002. Sharelle loves telling serious stories of the heart as well as light-hearted action tales. But most of all, Sharelle loves the real people and animals in her life who make her laugh and cry and give her raw material for her stories.

Anola Pickett
Anola Pickett writes mostly for children. Her book Old Enough for Magic is an “I Can Read” book from HarperCollins, and her stories, articles, puzzles, and poems have been published in several magazines, including Children's Digest, The Friend, The Lefthander Magazine, Teacher's Slate, and Family Journal. She has also co-authored a book for teachers, Multiple Intelligences and Positive Life Habits, published by Sage Publications.
Anola lives in Kansas City, Missouri with her husband Pete and their two cats, Priscilla and Mitch. A former teacher, she is now a school librarian at St. Francis Xavier School. It's a perfect job for her because she can combine her love of children and books. She likes to swim, hike, garden, travel—especially to the beach—listen to music, and dance. She takes time every day for reading and writing and tries to give everyone she meets a smile.

Roxane B. Salonen
has written professionally since graduating from college in Minnesota in 1991, most often as a newspaper reporter and freelance writer. Her work has received national exposure through articles published in Fit Pregnancy and New Beginnings magazines. She also has written for The Federal Way News and The Shelton Journal of Western Washington; The Area Woman, an award-winning magazine featuring area business people; and several other local publications. She spent her early years as the daughter of elementary teachers on the Ft. Peck Indian Reservation in Poplar, Montana, and derives inspiration for characters from that experience, as well as from observing and interacting with her three young children. Roxane and her husband, Troy, reside in Fargo, North Dakota, with their kids and two cats.

Laura Schulak
Laura Schulak graduated from Northwestern University in spring 2001 with degrees in journalism and economics. Her previous experience includes her work as a reporter for the Naples Daily News in Florida and her work for a Chicago-based public relations firm. She is currently earning her masters degree in elementary education at Northwestern University.
Laura lives in Chicago and loves animals. The family pets, Sundance, a golden retriever, and Cuckoo, a calico cat, live with her parents in Cleveland, Ohio.

Rebecca Johns Trissler
Currently working toward her MFA in creative writing at the Iowa Writer’s Workshop, Rebecca Johns Trissler has worked on the editorial staff of LIFE, Highlights for Children and Woman's Day magazines, and her writing has appeared in American Baby, Bride's, Cosmopolitan, the Chicago Tribune, Fitness, Glamour, Ladies' Home Journal, Mademoiselle, Parenting, Parents, Seventeen and Woman's Day.
She lives in Iowa City with her husband, Brandon, two cats, and a perpetually unfinished novel.

Cindy Beauvais
Since receiving a Bachelor in Fine Arts from The University of Florida, Cindy Beauvais has been working as an artist-of-many-sorts in the Chicago area for the past 19 years. She has worked primarily in the Advertising/Marketing world, and also enjoys painting murals in Childrens rooms, as well as old, beat-up furniture. Cindy spends her spare time cooking, antiqueing, and spending time with her family, especially her husband Michael, and their Pomeranian, whom they respectfully refer to as "Mr. Fuzzy."

Ginger Kubic
Ginger studied Fine Arts at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. She
lives here in Chicago with her boyfriend Brent and Hodgepodge - their black
and white kitty. Ginger has illustrated at a variety of places - from doing
caricature drawings at Great America to more commercial work at several
advertising/sales promotion firms in Chicago such as Flair Communications
Agency. Ginger enjoys what she does. She enjoys meeting new people, and
she's having a blast working for Storydog.com!

Maria Tubay
Maria is a creative person, right down to the bone. Her natural talents in art and design have been perfected over the last 15 years in the advertising and promotion arena as a Creative Director. She has always enjoyed her work with family-oriented accounts such as J.M. Smucker, Dole, the Kellogg Company, Coca-Cola and M&M Mars to name a few. Maria was raised in a family of six children, and now has 12 nieces and nephews, so she’s certainly no stranger to children’s storytelling. Maria really believes in the importance of reading to children. Her vision is that with a new adventure every day, Storydog® will inspire more family interaction with this fun-loving, adventurous little character named Vinny! Maria founded Storydog® , Inc. in October 1999.
