You’re looking at Maria Tubay, Founder and President of Storydog® , Inc., along with her dog Vinny and good friend Tiffany Owen, Storydog® ’s Marketing Director (bios). Of course, Maria and Tiffany are the ones who have done all the manual labor needed to build their dream doghouse–since they’re the ones with opposable thumbs. But Vinny’s the one with the charm that makes the site click! (He also claims he got all the looks in the Storydog® family.)

The story behind Storydog® began on a typical day in October, 2000. Maria was on the phone–again. She was talking to her sister–again. But this time, her sister had a problem that needed solving. (Okay, Maria might say that was typical, too.)

You see, Maria’s sister has three kids, and they all love to be read to, especially Eliza. But at the end of every busy day, her sister finds it difficult to read for very long...especially when Eliza picks the fattest book off the shelf (which she usually does).

As Maria hung up the phone that not-so-typical day, she had an idea. (Actually, that’s pretty typical, too.)

What about finding–or better yet, creating–educational and entertaining stories for busy parents and their kids, and delivering the stories to them in their own homes? Maria knew she could do it–with a little help. (Not from a story delivery guy but from the World Wide Web!)

Luckily, Maria didn’t have to look far for someone with enough talent to help her bring her idea to life. Her friend Tiffany had just shown up at the door. (Again, very typical.) And she didn’t have to look far for a little inspiration–about 5 feet and 8 inches straight down to be exact...where Vinny was standing staring up at her, wondering what was going on and if it involved food.

And so Storydog® was born.

Maria and Tiffany have never minded being in the doghouse. They’re both dog lovers down to the bone. They’ve also been friends for 8 years–and that’s what makes this site so much fun!

So now that you know the story behind Storydog® , come on into the doghouse–it’s time to play!

Roll Over
Starting every Sunday, you can dig into a new Vinny adventure. You can read it on-screen or print it out to read on paper. Then we’ll give you one chapter a night through Thursday. The story ends on Thursday when the weekend begins. That’s cause everyone needs a break–even Vinny!

We roll the story over night to night for a number of reasons. First, it helps you read longer stories by breaking them up into pieces that fit better in your schedule. Second, it provides an enjoyable and educational routine that parents and kids can share every night. Finally, it gives everyone something to look forward to during the busy week!
